Given how cheap SKS rifles are, it makes them prime candidates to be “Bubba'd”, or modified in a slapdash manner by amateur firearms enthusiasts who don't care about the historical provenance of the weapon and simply want to modernize it into a bastardized “tacticool” nightmare – often using the cheapest accessories that can be ordered online from China.
I started with the base game This Machine mesh and removed the barrel, receiver, and operating rod before mirroring the wood stock and shortening it to carbine length. I then added various pieces from the legacy-content Chinese Assault Rifle, the upper handguard from the Light Machine Gun, the bolt carrier from the Hunting Shotgun, the stock from the Assault Carbine, the pistol grip from the Plasma Defender, and the .45 Auto SMG Comp.
