The Smart Wayfinding Articulated Remote Munition is a kamikaze robotic mine that charges towards enemies before detonating. It is inspired by the behavior of Snarks from the videogame Half-Life.
I started with the Spider Drone mesh from Fallout 3's Operation: Anchorage DLC and removed most of the body, leaving only the legs. I then added pieces from the base game Pulse Mine mesh, and a glowing blue status light on top.
The following properties, perks and challenges apply to this weapon:
The mine activates as soon as it's deployed, sprouting legs and charging towards the nearest hostile target. Unexploded mines can be picked up and reused. Outside of combat, the mine will continue to follow the Player around until picked up. Otherwise, if the Player is too far away, the mine will self-destruct (This is a feature to prevent save bloat, especially if the mine gets stuck inside level geometry and cannot be picked up).
This weapon can be crafted at any workbench.
