This weapon is inspired by the Calico M950/M950A pistol/submachine gun – the base gun for many sci-fi movie props from the 1980s owing to its futuristic design. However, the gun itself is notoriously unreliable so even with a theoretical magazine capacity of 100 rounds, being able to fire off more than twenty in a row without a jam is considered a minor miracle.
I started with the base game Assault Carbine mesh and rearranged the parts. I then added the handguard from the Service Rifle, the charging handle from the legacy content Assault Rifle, and the charging handle slot from the Silenced .22 SMG. Lastly, I rigged the weapon to use the reload animation from the 12.7mm Submachine Gun.
