This weapon is inspired by the similar Stun Knife from the Metal Gear Solid videogame franchise.
The name is a reference to the 1982 film Blade Runner.
I started with the base game Ripper mesh and removed the handle and chainsaw teeth, leaving only the blade. I then added the front handle of the Arc Welder from the Lonesome Road DLC.
The following properties, perks and challenges apply to this weapon:
Attacking with this weapon is considered a “Minor Crime”, meaning that only the victim will become aggressive without turning their entire faction hostile.
Be aware that any stats and effects which boost melee damage will affect this weapon as well, meaning you could accidentally kill an enemy with low HP.
Additionally, this weapon can be used lethally to execute an enemy if you manage to sneak up behind them undetected, and then activate them.
This weapon is a textbook example of why such things are called “less-lethal” instead of “non-lethal”. A light tap is generally enough to incapacitate most adult humans, but prolonged contact or a strike in a vulnerable area can easily cause heart failure or otherwise kill the target.
