This weapon is visually inspired by Starlord's blaster from the Guardians of the Galaxy movies, as well as by the double clamshell design of the Zorg ZF-1 pod gun from the 1997 film The Fifth Element. There is also some similarity to the Covenant plasma rifle from the Halo videogame franchise.
I started with the base game Automated Turret mesh and removed everything except for the clamshell carapace. I then added the pistol grip, trigger guard, and trigger from the 12.7mm Submachine Gun, and the carry handle from the Missile Launcher.

Project #E-1592-W - "CryoShard" The most formidable challenge of living in the Mojave is the damned heat. It's almost enough to make one wish for a nuclear winter. Failing that, however, I sought to devise a solution using science. This device projects a beam that leeches energy from the molecules of the targeted object, lowering their thermodynamic temperature down to near absolute zero. While fantastic for cooling drinks and preserving food, when used to cool a living subject, they tend not to survive the extreme temperature drop.
