The Baby Status Checker is a handheld tool that allows you to examine and interact with the baby. To use it, simply equip it and fire like you would with a weapon, which will bring up the menu. The menu provides the following options:

Brahmin Milk can be purchased from vendors, found in loot drops, or acquired manually by approaching a Brahmin, crouching, and activating the animal. This can be done up to five times per day, and will give you two Brahmin Milk each time.
The Baby Ear Plugs reduce the amount of Comfort lost during combat engagements by half.
Note: The Baby Ear Plugs will not be visible when equipped due to limitations imposed by the way animations are handled in the game engine. In any case, they represent nothing more complicated than stuffing the baby's ears full of cotton, which normally wouldn't be visible anyway.
