Childhood games of Cops and Robbers would have been much more interesting (and traumatic!) with finger guns like this in play.
I started with the base game hand mesh and removed all the bone assignments so that I was left with a static object that wouldn't flex with the player's movements. I then bent the ring and pinky fingers, straightened the middle and index fingers and tilted the thumb up, shaping the hand into the form of a double-barreled finger gun. I did this for both the male and female hand meshes, and the skin tone will also change properly depending on your character's race.
This weapon deals 10 points of base damage, plus a damage bonus equal to your character's level – therefore, a Level 2 character will deal 12 total points of damage whereas a Level 50 character will deal 60 total points of damage. This should hopefully keep the weapon viable as you progress through the game. This weapon has no visible projectile or impact effect, doesn't degrade, and can't be confiscated. It uses up “Focus” which needs to be recharged, so you can't keep shooting indefinitely. Focus recharges at a rate of one unit every two seconds.
This weapon can only be obtained with the Wild Wasteland trait selected during character creation.
With the Wild Wasteland trait, the “Finger Blaster” perk is unlocked at Level 2. Selecting this perk will automatically add the weapon to your inventory.
