Devil-Hound Helmet

This is a protective headgear combining the ballistic protection of a Combat Helmet with the chemical/biological/radiological protection of a gas mask. Its name is inspired by the U.S. Marine Corps, who refer to themselves as “Devil Dogs”. An apocryphal story alleges the name came from WWI, where U.S. Marines scrambling up towards German positions on all-fours, wearing their gas masks, made them look like Teufelhunden (“Devil Dogs” in gramatically-incorrect German).

Parts Used

This helmet was made by taking the gas mask of the Supervisor helmet from Fallout 3's The Pitt DLC and adding a Combat Armor helmet.

Usage Notes

The night vision feature can be toggled on or off using the Night Vision Toggle aid item that's automatically added to your inventory along with the helmet (The FormID for the toggle item is ##B03001, if for some reason you need to spawn one using the console). Having the night vision active will automatically consume Small Energy Cells from your inventory. The rate of consumption is determined by your Perception (i.e. the higher your Perception, the longer the battery lasts), and can be adjusted by changing the aaaGLOBResourceDrainMult global variable.
