It is an empirical fact that any weapon can be made 87% more awesome with the addition of fully-automatic fire.
I started with the base game Tesla Cannon mesh, adding parts from the Flamer (retextured using the Tesla Cannon texture), and the coils and barrel from the Gauss Rifle. I then rigged the weapon to use the Shoulder Mounted Machine Gun animation set.
