Halligan

This weapon is inspired by my favorite companion from the Mass Effect videogame franchise. No, not Garrus or Tali, but the stalwart M-96 Mattock.

Regarding the name, it is (naturally) a play on worlds. A mattock is a type of digging tool that combines an axe head with either an adze or a pick. A Halligan bar is a similar-looking tool used by firefighters when they need to force entry into a building or vehicle. I also felt this association with forced entry was appropriate for an assault rifle-style weapon.

Parts Used

I started with the Bozar from the Gun Runners' Arsenal DLC and chopped it up to make the receiver - mirroring the left side to remove the ejection port. I then added the pistol grip from the Hunting Revolver, rotated 90 degrees, the barrel from the 12.7mm Submachine Gun, and the handguard from the Single Shotgun.

I set about tinkering with a run-of-the-mill Pulse Rifle
to see what improvements I could make. I managed to
install a microfusion breeder, increasing the amount of
available power while allowing it to automatically
recharge, but had to enlarge the shell in order to
make it fit.

Since I was already making it bulkier, I decided to
also permanently attach an optic.
